About Margarita
Margarita Tsoukarelas is talented singer and actress renowned for her interpretations of Chanson and Musical Theatre composers such as Gershwin, Weill, Kern, Legrand, Bernstein, A. Lloyd Weber and also many others.
Of Greek and Polish origin, Margarita studied Opera Performance and Vocal Pedagogy (Bachelor & Master Degree) at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Wrocław (Poland) and at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig (Germany).
Alongside her operatic studies, Margarita also followed another path, that of Jazz, Chanson and Musical Theater, which was an obvious choice for the passionate performer. Her ardent, emotional stage presence combined with her flexibility in movement and acting skills create an artistic unity. Her versatile and visually stunning performances are distinctice, leaving the audience with a ma- gical impression and a sense of having travelled to a by-gone era.
Her numerous roles encompass those of Sally Bowles (Cabaret), Maria (West Side Story), Dorothy (The Wizard of Oz) , Atalanta (Xerxes), Papagena (The magic flute) and many other musical, opera and theatrical productions including also her new concert project performances. Margarita’s speciality is that she effortlessly switches between several different styles and musical genres such as Jazz, Musical, Classic, Film music, Pop, Chanson, Soul, Swing, Bossa Nova, French music, Jewish folk, World music etc.
She is presenting 10 languages, 10 music genres, 10 countries – an immense variety that is going to leave you with the best impressions of oeuvres from Gershwin, Cole Porter, Kurt Weill, Michele Legrand, Mikis Theodorakis, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Weber, John Kander, Jerome Kern, Jule Styne, Alan Menken, Duke Ellington, Antonio Carlos Jobim etc.

As a singer and actress Margarita has performed in diverse theatrical, musical and operatic productions in Germany, Greece, Poland and Hungary. During the 2013/2015 season she was a member of the Theater der Jungen Welt Leipzig and Kammeroper Dresden. She made her debut in Germany (Berlin) as Margaret Peggy Kelly in the new Musical Production of the Gallissas Theater Verlag „Grace“. In 2012 she became a member of the Musical Company Leipzig, performing with the production Musical Gala Best Of Broadway at both König Albert Theater in Bad Elster and at the Krystallpalast Variete in Leipzig. In 2015 her performance of the jazz standard “It don’t mean a thing” was played at the New York’s YTP Radio. As a Songwriter she recently wrote the music & lyrics of her first Greek Song „Gialini Sfaira“ (Crystal Earth). From 2016 she will be seen across Germany with two of her new concert-projects, Lady Margarita Swings and Lady Margarita ''Bei mir bist du scheen!''.

Lady Margarita Swings
The Greek-Polish singer Margarita Tsoukarelas presents songs from all over the world in a rivetingly entertaining fashion. She interprets jazz, swing, klezmer, tango, bossa nova, pop and musical melodies from the salons and cabarets of the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s such as own compositions. With her stunning stage presence and unmistakably flexible voice, she interprets songs and world hits with a sovereignty that amazes and inspires. In "Lady" Margarita Tsoukarela's interpretation, her Greek and Slavic roots can be clearly felt. Passionate and temperamental, profundity and at the same time lightness provide the necessary tensions, making the music something unforgettably unique. Margarita Tsoukarelas is a leading musical performer in the current musical gala "Broadway's Best" at the "Albert König Theater" in Bad Elster and at the "Kraszewski Museum" in Dresden. In Leipzig she can be seen performing at the "Krystallpalast Varietétheater", at the "Theater der Jungen Welt" in the "Revue Theater am Palmengarten", ''Jüdische Woche in Leipzig'', ''Budde-Haus Gohlis'' and "Horns Erben". Currently she is having a summer - concert series at the Hotel Arka Medical Spa in Kolobrzeg (Poland) such as other Festivals and radio shows in Poland.
Awards
Margarita is winner of several vocal competitions encompassing Opera, Chanson and Musical Theater. She was a finalist at the Maria Callas Foundation Competition and received two first Awards for Chanson and Musical Category in the National Competition in Athens.
Vocal Coaching
Margarita is also a vocal coach & pedagogue, teaching several different music genres and styles. She provides her services in music schools, in private lessons and in masterclasses internationally.
